THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BIOBASED CERTIFICATION
The USDA Certified Biobased Product label displays a product’s biobased content, which is defined as the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine or forestry feedstocks. The test quantifies that biobased content of a material through analytical testing for Carbon-14. Green Line is happy to announce that 17 of our products have earned this labeled.
The USDA Certified Biobased Product label supports transparency through all stages of the supply chain, from supplier to consumer. This label impacts the way the industry views the term “natural,” giving the word a more quantative definition.
By developing biobased materials, the need for non-renewable petroleum-based substances is decreased. Biobased products play a vital role in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that intensify climage change.
